WORK SESSION AGENDA:
• City-wide Landscaping – after analyzing our landscaping needs and costs with all
involved departments, we have determined that it would be more efficient and
economical to hire additional employees into our Beautification department to perform
the work and to cancel the landscaping contracts that we currently have in place. This
proposal would lead to additional employees being hired which needs to be authorized
by Mayor/Council.
• Proposed Capital Vehicle/Equipment Lease for FY2023 – the City has determined that it
has upcoming vehicle & equipment needs across multiple departments, and it
recognizes the importance of ordering this equipment much earlier than was historically
required given the increased costs and delays in obtaining any sort of vehicle or
equipment. Typically, this would be considered during the overall budget process, but
obtaining any equipment has become extremely time-sensitive in our current
economy. The decision to enter into a capital equipment lease would require an
ordinance and Mayor and Council approval.
• July 4th Event – Each year the City hosts a July 4th event, which takes place shortly after
the budget ordinance is approved with a 2nd and final reading. In order to secure the
necessary bands, fireworks, equipment, labor, etc. for the event, the City is seeking
Mayor/Council approval to enter into these contracts prior to the FY2023 budget being
passed.
• Youth Festival Event – Last year, the City hosted its inaugural Youth Festival and it
intends to host another Youth Festival in October. In order to secure the necessary
bands, equipment, labor, etc. for the event, the City is seeking Mayor/Council approval
to enter into these contracts prior to the FY2023 budget being passed.
