GENERAL PURPOSE
Handle animals for the purpose of investigations of mistreatment, or control of abandoned, dangerous, or unattended
animals. Performs other duties as required by the street department.

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:
(A) High School Diploma or equivalent GED or,
(B) Certifications, licenses, professional designations, or other qualifications required for this position
include Training seminars on handling and capturing animals
(C) Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements

▪ Must possess a Valid SC Driver’s License

Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Considerable knowledge of gas and diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, fire pumps and valves, generators, fabrication, and welding.
• Knowledge of city ordinances involving animals, vicious animals or animals running at large
• Knowledge of the geography of the city and location of important buildings
• Knowledge of the rules and regulations of the City of Seneca
• Ability to handle sensitive public contacts and to deal tactfully and courteously with the public
• Ability to analyze situations and to adopt quick, effective, and reasonable courses of action with due regard to surrounding hazards and circumstances
• Knowledge of how to handle friendly and feral domesticated animals
